Conference on the 12th International Meeting Molecular Epidemiology and Evolutionary Genetics of Infectious Diseases (MEEGID XII) .
On behalf of the chair and organizing committees, we would like to invite you to join us at the 12th International Meeting Molecular Epidemiology and Evolutionary Genetics of Infectious Diseases (MEEGID XII) which will be held at the Royal River Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand on the 11- 13 December 2014. The meeting will be organized by Elsevier and will include 15 plenary lectures,24 two hour-specialized symposia, and several poster sessions.
Special emphasis (through plenary lectures and symposia) will be given to health problems of specific interest to the Southern world in general and South East Asia in particular: Asia: dengue, H5N1, SARS, AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria, leishmaniases, cattle and crop pathogens. Plenary lectures and symposia will also deal with transversal topics such as population genetics, evolution, species concepts, bioinformatics, whole genome sequencing analysis and phylogenetic character mapping. The congress is open to proposals of conferences and symposia.
Communications on genetics, genomics, proteomics, population biology, mathematical modeling and bioinformatics are welcome. They may deal with the host, the pathogen, or the vector in case of vector-borne diseases. Papers considering host + pathogen or pathogen + vector (co-evolution) are strongly encouraged. All pathogens are within the scope of MEEGID, including viruses, parasitic protozoa, helminths, fungal organisms and prions. All infectious models can be considered, including those of veterinary or agronomical relevance.
